Additional Information

Elk Mountain Trails is sanctioned by the Girl Scouts of the National Capital Area.
Girl Scouts Badge work offered: "Horse Fan', "Horse Rider", and "Horse Sense" Badges for additional fee.
Boy Scout "Horsemanship" Merit Badge offered for additional fee.
Minimum of 7 scouts for all badge work sessions.

Limited Camping (information available upon request)

Helmets are required for anyone 17 years or younger.

Suggested Wearing Apparel:
Long pants, hard-soled shoes with heel preferable or sneakers or boots.
NO open-toed or open heeled shoes, clogs, flip flops, watershoes, sandals, etc.

Minimum Riding Age: 6 years old and must be able to control own horse and to follow guide directions. 10 years old for 2 hour and longer rides.

Maximum Weight Limit for Riders: 250 pounds

Inclement Weather: Elk Mountain Trails will call to cancel a ride, otherwise assume the ride will be going out. If riders have any question about weather conditions, please call EMT prior to coming for the ride.

Payment Policy: CASH OR CHECK ONLY. NO Credit or Debit cards accepted.

NOTE: Prices do not include 5% MD Amusement Tax (Non-Profit organizations exempt) or Guide Gratuity.

Deposit, Refund and Cancellation Policy
DEPOSIT: Deposits must be received within ten (10) days of making your reservation. For reservations made within seven ( 7) days of ride, no deposit is required.
REFUND: Sunday Morning Brunch Ride, Four (4) hour Moonlight Ride and All Day Ride deposits are non-refundable due to limited availability. For all other rides the deposit is refundable, with two (2) weeks notice given.
ALL DEPOSITS REFUNDABLE if Elk Mountain Trails cancels ride due to weather, etc.
For persons arriving late for their scheduled ride, the deposit will not be refunded.

Prices for rides are subject to change without notice.

2012 Riding Packages

One (1) hour Mountain Top Trail Ride
Fun and safe for children and beginners
Price: $30.00 per person, with $15.00 deposit

One & one -half (1 ½) hour Mountain Top Trail Ride
Ride around National Parks through scenic wilderness areas with wildlife and overlooks.
Price: $45.00 per person, with $25.00 deposit

One & one-half (1 ½) hour Experienced Horse Enthusiasts Ride
A ride for experienced riders; trot and canter
Must be 18yrs of age. Limited Availability.
Price: $65.00 per person, with $40.00 deposit

Two (2) hour Mountain Top Trail Ride
Mountain top trail ride to the base of Elk Ridge.
Riders must be 10 years or older.
Price: $60.00 per person, with $30.00 deposit

Two (2) hour Potomac River Trail Ride
Morning Potomac River ride along C&O Canal Towpath.
Riders must be 10 years or older.
Price: $65.00 per person, with $40.00 deposit

Meal Rides

One & one -half (1 ½) hour Sunday Morning Brunch Ride

One Sunday a Month (see dates below) enjoy our 1 ½ hr Mountain Top Trail Ride, Followed by a relaxing outdoor brunch at the farm. Fun and safe for beginners & families. Ride leaves at 9am or 10am (see riding times).
Price: $55 per person, with $30 non-refundable deposit due to limited number of riders.

2012 SUNDAY MORNING BRUNCH RIDE DATES
April 15th, May 13th (Mother's Day), June 17th (Father's Day), July 15th, August 12th, September 16th, & October 14th (October 21st Rain Date)

Four (4) hour Potomac River Lunch Ride
Rides go out Saturday & Sunday, April 14th to October 28th, leaves 10am to 2pm or 11 am to 3pm (see riding times). For adults and experienced youth.
Complete lunch served on the river* (see sample menus below).
Price: $95.00 per person, with $50.00 deposit.

Four (4) hour Potomac River Moonlight Dinner Ride
Rides go out on Saturdays around the full moon (see dates below). Dinner is served along the River* with dessert and beverages at EMT's Campfire at the conclusion of the ride.
May, September, October & November: Ride leaves at 4 pm, returning around 8 pm.
June, July and August: Ride leaves at 5pm, returning around 9pm.
Price: $110.00 per person, with $50.00 non-refundable deposit due to limited number of riders.
*We reserve the right to have dinner back up on the Mountain due to weather conditions, traffic on the canal, group size, or other factors beyond our control. If this happens you will be notified at the beginning of the ride.

An all day (9am to 5pm) adventure ride along the Potomac River for experienced riders.

Price: $200.00 per person, with $75.00 non-refundable deposit.

Other Rides

Weekday rides may be available for groups by special arrangement.

Group Discounts
Available for groups of 8 or more (must pay with one check) with the exception of any meal ride.
Discounts for Girl and Boy Scouts, Church and Recreational Groups.
